British Red Cross.

In July 2006, Compact was approached by the British Red Cross with a view to providing automated data capture services for Gift Aid Forms – the form that allows them to claim back income tax on donations received. British Red Cross were in the process of designing the form and were looking for our input as to the best format to use to facilitate accurate data capture of the required information.  The form would consist of a unique printed reference number, a series of tick boxes and a date field, with the last two being handwritten by the Donatee.

Norwich Union.

Norwich Union Legal Services has taken a closer step towards the paperless office by appointing Compact Data Management to convert approximately 30,000 documents, just short of a million pages, into an electronic format, making it easier than ever for them to be stored and retrieved. The final appointment was made after Compact impressed Norwich Union Legal Services with its levels of technical expertise and the quality of its scanned images after each competing bureau was asked to work on a sample, as part of the competitive tender. The contract is significant in that it reinforces Compact, a Staffordshire firm, as one of the leading pioneers of the paperless office in the UK.

Crown Office.

In a groundbreaking move, Compact has scanned documents used as evidence in a high profile court case for the Crown Office in Edinburgh. Each member of the Jury was provided with a monitor and, thanks to the speed and ease at which the scanned information could be retrieved, the process of showing essential evidence was quicker and more efficient.

Staffordshire Ambulance Service.

The Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust had a major problem with the storage and retrieval of their Patient Report Forms which were accumulating at a rate in excess of 100,000 per year. The majority of forms were stored off-site, meaning lengthy delays in answering queries and a great deal of staff time had to be allocated to this problem. Compact were called in to assess the current situation and provide an alternative cost effective solution.

HS Marston Aerospace.

Until recently, HS Marston Aerospace carried out document scanning and retrieval in-house. However, scanned images were of poor quality, indexing was difficult and the retrieval software was not user friendly. The decision was therefore taken to outsource the facility to a leading specialist.
Compact were called in to look at the problems and suggest an alternative cost effective solution.

Goodwin International Limited.

Goodwin International Limited supply Dual Plate Check Valves to the international Petro-Chemical Industry. Data Dossiers have to be produced in accordance with current legislation, that contain all the technical specifications, drawings and colour photographs.
Until recently, the 10 copies of each manual were sent out by post in hard copy format, which meant the arduous task of photocopying all of the pages and drawings which was not only very time consuming but also, very costly. Customer requirements were also a driving force in the decision to move to a user-friendly CD Manual.
The decision was taken to contact ‘Compact’, the specialists in this field, who could hopefully suggest an alternative cost effective solution.
